Free family fun in the city on Thursday

Fun will be the name of the game in the Phoenix Mall on Thursday (27/10), when families descend on the Ballarat CBD, to celebrate children.

The seventh annual Children's Fun Day will be hosted by Ballarat City Council, along with other family and children's services based in Ballarat.

People and Communities Portfolio Councillor Des Hudson said Council's Fun Day was a fantastic opportunity to acknowledge the importance of young children to our community.

"Young children play an important role in our local community and Children's Fun Day is our way of providing a fun day out for local children, their families and carers".

All families and carer's with young children are invited to come along and enjoy the free activities on offer including:

 

  • Serenity Animal Farm;
  • BBQ lunch with free sausages for the children (gold coin donation for adults);
  • Information displays from City of Ballarat Maternal and Child Health and Immunization Service, Family Day Care, Ballarat Playgroups and Eureka Community Kindergarten Association (ECKA);
  • Ballarat Community Circus;
  • Ballarat Toy Library;
  • Active play with the YMCA;
  • Building with Brown Boxes
  • Craft and collage
  • Rhyme Time with Ballarat Library
  • Wannik Dance Academy
  • Children's Yoga
  • Sensory toys and slime with Pinarc, and
  • Balloons, bubbles and much, much more.

Children's Fun Day is supported by City of Ballarat, Pinarc, Central Highlands Libraries, DEECD, Child and Family Services, BADAC, YMCA, Centacare, ECKA and many other local service organisations.
